Inspired by our Foundress Mother Veronica and urged on by Mother Marie des Anges our first Superior General ‘we shall keep looking ahead with a clear vision for the future’, for standards of excellence in our educational and social apostolate for a holistic development of our students which shall enable them to face the challenges of tomorrow.
The congregation of the Apostolic Carmel was founded in 1886 by Mother Veronica of the Passion in Bayonne, France, and established at Mangalore, India, in 1870. Following the path of the Carmelite Tradition of St. Teresa of Avila and of Mother Veronica the Sisters try to combine in their lives contemplation with apostolic activity according to the needs of the time. The focus of their apostolic service is ‘Christ in His brethren-the church and the world’.
The Congregation tries to fulfil the purpose of its existence through the education of youth in the various schools, colleges, technical training centres, hostels, children’s homes, crèches and schools for the differently abled, established throughout India, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Bahrain, Pakistan and Africa. It aims at developing the students entrusted to its care into committed people who should be the leaven in their milieu, putting love and meaning into human life and endeavour.
With a heart full of gratitude, I thank God for the
countless blessings bestowed upon our school community. Each academic year
unfolds with new opportunities, renewed hope, and the shared commitment of our
students, teachers, and parents. It is this unity and faith that strengthen our
institution and guide us forward.
We are living in an age defined by Artificial Intelligence and rapid technological advancement. These developments have transformed the way we learn, think, and interact with the world. As a school, we welcome progress and encourage our students to become confident, competent, and creative learners who can engage meaningfully with modern technology.
At the same time, I firmly believe that while technology may shape the future, values shape the individual. In this fast-changing digital era, it is essential that we remain anchored in integrity, respect, compassion, discipline, and responsibility. Knowledge without character is incomplete. Our mission is not only to prepare students for careers, but to form individuals of strong moral character and deep faith.
To our dear students, I urge you to use technology wisely and responsibly. Let it enhance your learning, not replace your effort or integrity. Always remember that true success lies in honesty, kindness, and perseverance.
To our dedicated teachers, thank you for guiding young minds with patience and wisdom. Your role goes far beyond academics; you nurture values and inspire purpose.
To our supportive parents, your partnership is invaluable. Together, let us ensure that our children grow not only in intelligence but also in virtue.
May God continue to bless our school abundantly and guide us as we strive to build a generation that is technologically skilled, morally grounded, and spiritually strong.

Dear Students, Parents, Staff Members and Well-wishers,
It's my honor and privilege to greet you with prayerful wishes that you be showered with abundant blessings from the Almighty.
Carmel School Gorakhpur's goal of education is to teach the students to live, to discover the deeper meaning of life and transcendence, to learn to interact with others, love creation, think freely and critically, find fulfillment in work, plan their future and in one word, learn ‘to be’. It is in and through education that one can hope for a more human and humane future and a more harmonious society.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Mother Mary Aloysia, the great educationist of our congregation has rightly said: "Education is incomplete without the formation of character ". So we at Carmel School Gorakhpur believe that warmth and sunshine of love are required to bring out the best qualities of character in the students.
Let this rich understanding usher in a new era in the life and mission of all our staff and students. May God the teacher par excellence bless abundantly all of us involved in the mission of education, especially for the poor and the marginalized.

Dear Students, Parents and Faculty,
Life is a reality to be faced with great courage and positivity. Educational institutions play vital role in moulding and shaping the young minds to face the challenges and struggles of life with great conviction and love.
As we continue this process in the academic year 2024-25, I want to take a moment to express my aspirations with delight that Carmel school, Gorakhpur caters to the multifaceted development and growth of the pupil entrusted to our care.
One of the founding Mothers of the Apostolic Carmel has rightly said about the purpose of education "to help the students to pass the test of life and fit them for heaven rather than for examination and prize winning." Therefore, through education, we aim at giving to the world good mothers, capable leaders, loyal citizens, and promising youth to fill the world with vibes of love.
Therefore, I want to encourage all my students to stay focused, remain positive and push themselves towards excellence and never to look back or hesitate in doing what is right. Let's work together to make it a reality, by our hard work and continuous efforts, shine like stars giving light and hope to all those in darkness in this beautiful temple of learning.

Dear Staff, students and parents,
In today’s digital age, education is evolving rapidly. Virtual tools and online platforms offer new ways to learn and connect. Yet, along with these advancements, we also witness a growing culture of isolation, disrespect, and the false belief that we can live and learn without others. This mindset weakens the fabric of our shared humanity and community.
Here at Carmel School, we believe education is much more than acquiring knowledge - it is the formation of the heart, mind, and soul. Our goal is not merely academic achievement, but the growth of kind, confident, and responsible individuals who value others and live in service.
Each child is a precious gift from God. Here, they are welcomed, guided, and challenged to discover their purpose and true potential. We also recognize that in a world seeking ease and comfort, the role of struggle and pain is often misunderstood. Yet, pain - whether emotional, mental, or spiritual - is a sign of life and essential for growth.
Let us journey together to break the walls of isolation and build bridges of love, learning, and lasting hope.
God bless you always !

Raised on high we lift our Carmel banner
Rally around, pace the ground together,
All unite to lift our flag on high
And pledge true loyalty this day till we die.
Onward to the goal we go,
Till we reach the far eternal shore,
Carmel’s children all unite
All stand for the right,
All evil forces fight.
Carmel be our beacon light
In this dark and wild tempestuous night
Be our radiant guiding star,
o’er life’s troubled sea.
Till dawns eternity.
